Laurence Talley•Laurence has in-depth knowledge and experience in establishing internal audit programs including establishing risk management activities, scoping, communication protocols and evaluating staffing requirements.•He manages compliance, operational audit and process improvement projects for clients with global operations. Through these efforts he has helped clients identify and resolve material process and control issues. •Laurence has supported his clients in designing risk management and internal audit functions including establishing charters, defining organizational structure and implementing standard audit methodologies. •He implemented and managed a global self-testing program for a building products company resulting in an annual reduction in the cost of SOX compliance and heightened awareness of risk management. •He led an in-depth risk assessment of the financial statement close process for a major automotive company. Assessment results served as the basis for process improvements required to eliminate reportable conditions in the company’s financial control environment. •Laurence periodically facilitates training and seminars for clients, Ernst & Young employees and professional organizations including the IIA, NABA and ISACA •He is currently working with a team of EY professionals to build a strategy and methodology to evaluate the cost of controls and transform control environments by align risk management efforts with strategies and goals. Community Service •Laurence is very active in his community and currently works with the Greater Cleveland Partnership to promote entrepreneurship throughout Northeast Ohio. He has served as the Chairman of the Board of Ohio’s largest housing authority and volunteers to at local high schools to promote college and business. •He was inducted to Crain’s Magazine “Forty Under 40” club which acknowledged both his professional and civic accomplishments. |
